Statement Of Purpose Executive Statement of Purpose
Jeremy Moore, CSP, REHS

Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability leadership has evolved into a strategic function that directly influences organizational resilience, workforce protection, and long term business performance. My professional purpose is to help organizations build integrated Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability frameworks that protect people, safeguard environmental resources, and strengthen operational performance while supporting enterprise sustainability commitments.

Over the course of more than a decade, my career has developed at the intersection of environmental public health, manufacturing operations, and enterprise risk management. This multidisciplinary background has allowed me to approach EHS leadership not simply as a regulatory function, but as a governance discipline that enables organizations to proactively identify risk, strengthen accountability, and integrate sustainability into the core of business strategy.

My professional journey began in environmental public health with the Georgia Department of Public Health, where I developed a strong foundation in regulatory interpretation, environmental risk assessment, and public safety oversight. Conducting hundreds of inspections and environmental investigations each year provided direct insight into the critical role organizations play in protecting community health and environmental resources. That experience shaped my belief that effective EHS leadership must balance technical expertise with the ability to build trust among regulators, organizations, and the communities they serve.

Transitioning into advanced manufacturing environments allowed me to expand my work from regulatory oversight to operational leadership. At Yachiyo Manufacturing of America, I developed governance systems that strengthened environmental management and safety accountability across the organization. Through structured training matrices, corrective action management systems, and comprehensive audit programs, I helped embed environmental stewardship and safety leadership into daily operational decision making.

Currently, as an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist at Southwire's Copper Rod facility, my work centers on designing and implementing integrated EHS management systems aligned with corporate governance and sustainability priorities. By strengthening ISO aligned management systems, advancing hazard identification processes, and promoting leadership engagement across operations, our team achieved a significant reduction in Total Recordable Incident Rate from 3.7 to 0.08 within a single year. These outcomes demonstrate how disciplined governance, structured management systems, and strong leadership alignment can transform safety performance.

Beyond incident prevention, my work emphasizes building sustainable infrastructure that supports long term risk management and operational reliability. This includes enterprise chemical inventory systems, exposure monitoring and industrial hygiene initiatives, and Kaizen driven risk reduction projects focused on ergonomics, equipment interaction, and operational hazards. By integrating these systems with data driven reporting and leadership accountability, organizations are better equipped to sustain safety improvements while enhancing operational performance.

Looking forward, my strategic vision is to lead enterprise Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability programs that integrate safety governance, environmental stewardship, and ESG objectives into unified operational frameworks. Organizations today face increasing expectations from regulators, investors, employees, and communities to demonstrate responsible environmental and social performance. EHS leadership plays a critical role in meeting those expectations while strengthening long term business resilience.

At the director level, this means developing enterprise EHS strategies aligned with sustainability goals, implementing standardized management systems across multi site operations, and advancing data driven performance monitoring that improves transparency and accountability. It also requires building leadership capability across the organization so that safety ownership exists at every level of management.

Equally important is ensuring that environmental stewardship remains central to operational strategy. Responsible oversight of environmental permitting, waste management, resource efficiency, and energy reduction initiatives allows organizations to reduce environmental impact while improving operational efficiency and regulatory relationships.

As I continue advancing into senior leadership roles, my goal is to serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership teams by aligning EHS governance with corporate sustainability strategy, operational excellence, and enterprise risk management. I believe organizations achieve their strongest results when safety, environmental responsibility, and business performance operate as mutually reinforcing priorities.

Ultimately, my mission is to help organizations build safer workplaces, more sustainable operations, and stronger communities by integrating Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability leadership into the core of business strategy and long term organizational success.

Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability Leadership

Executive Leadership Overview

I am an Environmental Health and Safety professional with more than a decade of experience leading safety, environmental, and risk management initiatives across manufacturing, public health, and organizational governance environments. As a Certified Safety Professional and Registered Environmental Health Specialist, I have built my career on developing structured management systems that strengthen compliance, reduce operational risk, and improve organizational performance.

My leadership philosophy centers on aligning environmental health and safety strategy with broader organizational objectives. I believe that effective EHS programs must go beyond regulatory compliance and function as strategic enablers of operational excellence, workforce engagement, and long-term sustainability. Throughout my career, I have focused on building scalable systems that empower employees, strengthen governance frameworks, and deliver measurable improvements in safety performance.

Currently, I serve as an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist at Southwire’s Copper Rod facility, where I work closely with corporate leadership to implement environmental and safety management systems aligned with global standards. In this role, I support the integration of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 frameworks, strengthen regulatory compliance processes, and lead initiatives that reduce operational risk while improving reporting efficiency and workforce engagement.

My professional journey reflects a commitment to building resilient organizations that can manage complex environmental and operational challenges while maintaining a strong culture of safety and accountability.

Strategic Impact and Operational Results

One of the most meaningful outcomes of my work has been driving measurable improvements in safety performance through structured management systems and leadership engagement.

At Southwire, I helped lead initiatives that reduced the facility’s Total Recordable Incident Rate from 3.7 to 0.08 year-over-year. This improvement was achieved through the implementation of systematic hazard identification processes, leading indicator tracking, and stronger collaboration with operational leadership teams.

I have also led the development and implementation of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems designed to align with corporate governance expectations while strengthening the facility’s environmental and safety performance. These systems provide a structured framework for risk identification, continuous improvement, and audit readiness.

In addition, I established enterprise chemical inventory tracking and regulatory reporting systems that improve compliance transparency and strengthen regulatory defensibility. I have also supported sustainability initiatives, including Southwire’s Growing Green program, while integrating technology and AI-supported workflows that enhance hazard reporting and data visibility.

Through Kaizen-based improvement initiatives, I have implemented targeted risk reduction strategies addressing ergonomics, equipment interaction, and vehicle-pedestrian interface hazards—contributing to both workforce safety and operational efficiency.

Enterprise Risk and Governance Leadership

Earlier in my career at Yachiyo Manufacturing of America, I played a key role in building the facility’s environmental health and safety governance infrastructure. My responsibilities included establishing a structured training matrix, implementing corrective action tracking systems, and developing audit and compliance processes that created greater organizational accountability.

I also managed programs related to workers’ compensation, contractor safety governance, fleet management, and facility security systems. These responsibilities required balancing regulatory compliance with operational efficiency while ensuring that safety remained integrated into everyday decision-making.

In addition to my operational leadership experience, I have also worked within executive strategy environments. While serving as Chief Strategy Officer for Omni Advantage LLC, I supported the development and execution of corporate strategic initiatives, translating leadership priorities into actionable plans and monitoring their implementation across the organization.

This combination of operational EHS leadership and strategic planning experience has allowed me to contribute to organizations not only as a compliance leader, but also as a strategic advisor focused on long-term organizational performance and risk management.

Public Health and Regulatory Expertise

My early career with the Georgia Department of Public Health provided a strong foundation in environmental health regulation and investigative work. As an Environmental Health Specialist III, I conducted more than 380 inspections annually across restaurants, tourist accommodations, and public facilities, ensuring compliance with state and local health regulations.

I also led the county public pool compliance program and worked alongside epidemiologists on vector surveillance initiatives addressing diseases such as Zika, dengue, and West Nile virus. In addition, I conducted environmental investigations involving air quality, mold exposure, and water contamination, producing formal reports that supported public safety decisions.

This experience strengthened my understanding of regulatory frameworks, environmental risk assessment, and public safety governance—skills that continue to inform my work within industrial and corporate settings.

Governance and Community Leadership

Outside of my professional career, I have remained deeply involved in governance and community leadership. I currently serve as Area Governor for Rotary District 6900, where I provide leadership oversight, advisory support, and succession planning guidance to multiple Rotary clubs within the district.

I also serve on the Executive Board of the University of West Georgia Alumni Association, where I participate in governance discussions, support fundraising initiatives, and contribute to institutional engagement efforts.

In addition, I serve as a board member for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) in Carrollton, Georgia. In this role, I participate in strategic planning, budget oversight, and governance decisions that support advocacy programs for children in the court system.

These governance experiences have strengthened my leadership perspective and provided valuable insight into organizational oversight, board engagement, and long-term strategic planning.

Leadership Philosophy

My leadership approach is built on three core principles: strategic alignment, systems thinking, and culture development.

First, I believe environmental health and safety must be integrated into the broader strategic priorities of an organization. When safety, sustainability, and operational performance are aligned, organizations are able to manage risk more effectively while improving overall performance.

Second, I believe that strong systems create sustainable results. Structured management systems, clear governance frameworks, and data-driven decision making are essential to maintaining long-term operational excellence.

Finally, I believe culture drives outcomes. By equipping employees with the knowledge, resources, and leadership support they need to manage risk effectively, organizations can build safety cultures that are both resilient and self-sustaining.

Future Leadership Focus

As I continue advancing into director-level leadership roles, my focus is on expanding enterprise EHS strategy and integrating environmental health, safety, and sustainability programs into broader corporate governance structures.

My long-term objective is to lead multi-site EHS and sustainability initiatives that support operational excellence, strengthen ESG performance, and enhance organizational resilience. I am particularly interested in helping organizations integrate safety leadership, environmental stewardship, and risk governance into unified strategies that support both business performance and long-term sustainability.

Through this work, I aim to continue building organizations where safety, environmental responsibility, and operational success are mutually reinforcing priorities.
